We are amassing a large quantity of gates down here… it seems to correlate with the amount of properties around the Toorak area that are in the throes of large scale demolition. Amongst our collection, are two beautiful foot gates created by Mr Caslake of South Yarra (one remaining)… an institution in wrought iron work throughout the inner eastern suburbs from the 1920’s onwards (“Melbourne’s premier iron founders of the period”) (Light reading: http://vhd.heritagecouncil.vic.gov.au/places/3955 and https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-house-vic-toorak-121780070)
